About

BIO

Yvette Molina’s work rises from her deep fascination with plant life. Over the past eight years the artist has created a series of plant portraits that blend traditions of scientific record making with personal reflections on the natural world.  In addition to her paintings, Molina creates and maintains a collection of terrariums and living plant “collages” as source material. More recently she has extended her practice into the sphere of public art.

Yvette Molina is held in numerous collections including Lynda and Stewart Resnick of Los Angeles, California, The Rogers Family Foundation in Oakland, California and the American Embassy in Riga, Latvia. She has displayed her work across the US and internationally at venues such as the Legion of Honor and de Young Art Center where she was an Artist in Residence, the Contemporary Museum, Honolulu, Hawaii, and the American Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay. She studied painting at the University of Dayton, Ohio, and attended the Norfolk Institute of Art and Design, Norfolk, England, and the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Angers, France. Molina currently splits her time between Oakland, California and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
